Performance Contract:

FEE: I understand there is a registration fee to be in the Nutcracker. This covers the cost of seamstress services, paying teachers for rehearsal time, dancer’s insurance, music license fees, studio communication costs, costume transport fees and more. I also understand the fee is NON REFUNDABLE.

Fee for Intro Ballet dancers is $125 (only involved in two of four performances) and for all other dancers the fee is $225.

Our fees have increased this year to cover two important causes: One, to hire a seamstress that will professionally costume and fit our dancers. And two, to pay a living wage to our incredible teachers for their rehearsal and backstage time. Thank you for your collaboration in fostering a sustainable performance program for our community.

ATTENDANCE: I understand it is required that dancers in the performance attend all regular classes (aside from injury or illness), and all assigned rehearsals, mandatory rehearsals and performances.

Each dancer is permitted to miss ONE rehearsal before losing their spot in the show. We understand this is difficult, but it is imperative we have full casts when rehearsing as choreographic placements could otherwise be disrupted.

DRESS CODE: I agree to read and purchase all necessary dress code items for the performance.

The dress code is listed on our website Santarosadancetheater.com under the "Classes" --> "Dress Code" tab, as well as below:

GIRLS:

- The required footed ballet tights to perform in our performances are the Capezio brand, color pink. Either # 1816, 1816C (child), 1825, 1825C (child), 1825 X (toddler), 1916, 1916C (child), 1916X (toddler).

- Leotards: the exact leotards shown per level on our dress code page need to be worn during any of these performances: https://www.santarosadancetheater.com/dress-code

- Shoes: ALL children need CLEAN ballet shoes and or pointe shoes. Girls need salmon solid pink color, not too pink and nothing on it!

BOYS:

- The color tights and shoes depend on which role they'll perform. But most likely black, footed tights, white tank top and black shoes.

CASTING: I understand that casting may change at any time. I also understand that dancers may be repositioned or re-cast in the case of injury of other dancers.

Casting is carefully decided based on your child's age, readiness, skill, performance ability, level and movement quality. Casting is final and not up for discussion. Please encourage your dancer to do their best in whatever role they are given, as every role is important in adding to the magic of the show.

INJURY: Should an injury occur, I understand my dancer is still required to come to all rehearsals so as to not fall behind in understanding choreography and staging. I understand that should an injury prevent my dancer from participating in the performance, the registration fee is still non-refundable. All fees are put to good use quickly and therefore cannot be returned. Should orthopaedic injury occur during rehearsal or performance, I authorize Dr. Christa Christianson, PT, DPT, CSCS to medically advise and/or treat dancers as needed.

All injuries shall be dealt with in a timely manner by the parents/ guardians in order to keep our dancers healthy.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: I agree to check the rehearsal schedule on a weekly basis as rehearsal times change regularly depending on which roles need more rehearsal over time. I will also check the board for information on costume fittings, any other performance updates, revisions or information.

VOLUNTEERING: I, the parent/ guardian, understand the volunteer requirements and agree to volunteering for 2 jobs per dancer I enroll.

This can be split amongst parent/ guardians or other family members. Your support in putting on this production is crucial. If you choose not to volunteer, we ask for a $50 non-volunteer fee PER JOB you are opting out of. So, if you opt out of both volunteer jobs, you pay $100.

CHANGE: I understand rules, policies, and regulations are subject to change.

COVID-19 and OTHER ILLNESS:

I agree that I will not send my dancer to rehearsal if sick, unless it is a minor illness, in which case, my dancer will wear a mask to reduce risk of spreading infection. I also understand I am at risk for contracting COVID-19 and/or other illness during this large gathering of the rehearsals and performances. I agree to not hold Santa Rosa Dance Theater responsible for any illnesses my child may be exposed to during this time.

We value wellness in our dancers, and as the winter approaches and stressors are high, illnesses can spread rapidly through studios suring performance seasons. We ask for your utmost mindfulness in keeping yourself, your dancer and other dancers healthy.

CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE AND LIABILITY WAIVER: I GIVE MY CONSENT FOR THE ABOVE NAMED DANCER TO PARTICIPATE IN SANTA ROSA DANCE THEATER’S PERFORMANCES AT SPRECKELS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. PARTICIPATION INCLUDES REHEARSALS AT THE SCHOOL AS WELL AS DRESS REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES AT THE THEATER.

I ALSO AGREE NOT TO HOLD SANTA ROSA DANCE THEATER OR ANYONE ACTING ON ITS BEHALF, RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY OCCURRING TO THE ABOVE NAMED STUDENT IN THE COURSE OF

DANCE/THEATER ACTIVITIES.

I AGREE WITH ALL ABOVE STATEMENTS AND WILL ADHERE TO ALL POLICIES.

More details will be discussed in our parent meeting.
