NEW REGISTRATIONS
2025

Thank you for your interest in enrolling at our studio! We are thrilled each time we have a new registrant. We are proud of the wonderful community we have here at SRDT and are always excited to welcome new families and dancers in.

Registration is open on an ongoing basis.

We value having dancers in the appropriate class for their age and skill level in order to create an environment conducive to learning excellent technique. Therefore, we have some options for you to get started:

REGISTRATION

Youth Program:

If your dancer is 8 or older, they require taking a placement class before registering for ballet. See info above.

All registration for our youth program is completed online through our portal. Simply click this link, create a portal account, and add the dance class you want to register your child in. If there is no space in the class, it will show as "full" and you can join the waitlist. When creating a portal account, you will be asked for a card on file, but have the option to pay cash, check, bank transfer, credit card or debit card. You can choose between self-pay or auto-pay when registering. We bill tuition monthly, due on the first. Should you start classes mid-month, we will prorate your classes, if you explicitly request it ahead of time, via email at santarosadancetheater@gmail.com. Tuition rates can be found here. All dress-code requirements can be found here.

Adult Program:

Our adult program includes Beginning Ballet and Intermediate Ballet classes. Most dancers are around 19-75 years old, but we also welcome dancers age 12+ that are beginner-level to join the adult ballet classes until they meet the skill level requirements to dance with their peers in our youth program.

1. FREE TRIAL CLASS

If you are brand new to SRDT, we welcome you to take a free trial class before you commit, should you decide. More information and the registration form can be found here.

2. PLACEMENT CLASS

For Ballet:

Dancers below the age of 7 do not require a placement class and can simply register for a free trial class or register for the semester. We will teach them the basics in our lower-level classes.

Dancers age 8 - 11 with 1+ years dance experience, are required to take a placement class (this counts as your free trial class). Placement class for this age is always in level 1.5 on Thursdays. Your instructor will tell you which level to register for, after class.

Dancers age 12+ with little to no experience in dance, take placement class in the Teen/ Adult Beginning Ballet Class. Your instructor will tell you which level to register for, after class.

Dancers age 12-18 with 1+ years dance experience, take placement class in the Teen/ Adult Intermediate Ballet Class, OR contact us for permission to take a placement class in the youth division. We can help advise you on which level may be a good fit.

Dancers age 19+ (all ages of adults) do not require a placement class. Please simply choose between Beginning Ballet and Intermediate Ballet, and take your free trial class or register. Details on registration are below.

You can learn more about placement classes and schedule your placement class here.

For Contemporary:

Placement classes are not needed for contemporary classes. Anyone age 7-11 can join Kids Contempotary, whether or not they are in the ballet program. For the Teen Contemporary class (age 12-19), some prior dance experience is recommended. Most movements are organic, collaborative and improvisational, but do require a sense of basic dance patterns and movements. Feel free to register online using the same registration process as is outlined below for the Youth Program.
